OK - this place is kind of hands-down awesome. The coffee is great, the baristas are fun and friendly, the wifi is solid, the place is really comfy, big, and has a huge garden that I am aching to sit in. (It's still 50 degrees in the middle of May. what.) But wait, that's not all, they also have some great dishes, like the chili and the mac n' cheese, that are beyond normal coffee shop fare, and oh so yummy. And there's a little DJ booth, though I haven't seen it used yet. The vibe: this place is hip, hip hip, hip. It's so good to find a place like this - but on the other hand sometimes you don't want to dress up to go out to the coffee shop, amirite? So it can be a double-edged sword.

Outpost is fantastic. Not only for coffee, but for other drinks too. They usually have some really good food on hand. They have a great back patio and a regular parade of DJ with some good music. Outpost probably has the most interesting and diverse customers in the city--don't dress up.

I love Outpost, it's everything a coffee shop should be, but so few are. It's a community space, it's a hang out space, the coffee is good, the food is good, the slouchy couches aren't exactly good but they're comfy and inviting and you don't feel too bad if you spill coffee on them. This is the sort of cafe that you almost never find in cities, but is such a treat when you do.
