The coffee here actually sucks. Brewed is bad, espresso drinks are mediocre. They are famous for their food (great baked goods, but their lunch buffet is fantastic: fresh, healthy, beautifully prepared local food at OUTRAGEOUS prices, by the pound). The atmosphere kindof sucks too. There are so many strikes against this place, but I and many many others continue going back because the food is really worth it. The best peanut butter cookies in the whole wide world. Blueberry corn muffins I dream about. Something called a "pretzel croissant" that, if you happen to have fresh out of the oven, is so delicious you'll happily mortgage your house to have one every morning. But why can't they just make some decent coffee? And why is the seating so uncomfortable? They're so popular they don't even seem to try.
